Kaitlin Spellman began using photography as a means of recording
her nomadic tendencies. She explores the figure, ideas of transience, abstraction of plant material, perception, culture and process.
Cultivating both painting and photography simultaneously developed into a conversation between mediums as each influence the other in an experiential driven expression. Her images carry a natural intimacy in a constant discourse between control and risk, planning and intuition, foresight,
insight and the moment.
Born on Long Island, she currently lives outside Charlotte.
